Jason Blindauer is an Associate in PilieroMazza’s Government Contracts Group. He provides detail-oriented yet practical counselling on a wide array of government contracting matters. Whether the issue is conventional or exceptional, he is often relied upon to attend to the particulars and distill for the client realistic courses of action.      
 
Mr. Blindauer’s catalog of services includes but is not limited to representing clients for bid protests, small business issues (including size and status protests), requests for equitable adjustment, claims, and claim appeals.  Mr. Blindauer assists commercial businesses and government contractors in joint ventures, subcontracts, teaming agreements, and cybersecurity matters.  His practice also extends to advising public and private entities on contract formation and administration, which includes but is not limited to the following:
 
• contract interpretation;
• cost and pricing issues (e.g., cost allowability);
• intellectual property;
• labor and employment clauses;
• government demands for payment;
• alleged contractor fraud;
• novations;
• past performance issues;
• terminations;
• domestic preferences;
• export controls and the handling of export-controlled information;
• fiscal law impact on the contract; and
• information law issues associated with the contract.
 
Additionally, Mr. Blindauer advises on state and local procurement, as well as other government spending authorities (e.g., grants or Other Transaction Authorities).
 
Mr. Blindauer previously served as Agency counsel for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he handled government contracts and Federal Tort Claims Act matters.  Mr. Blindauer also previously served as a U.S. Army Infantry Officer, for which he participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in OIF III.
