Associate Attorney - Corporate
PilieroMazza PLLC, a business law firm serving government contractors and commercial businesses, is seeking a mid-level or senior Corporate and Transactional associate with at least three (3) years of relevant experience to handle our clients’ legal transactions, commercial contracting, and general corporate governance needs. The principal role will be to support deal teams, including diligence, drafting and negotiating deal documents, coordinating closings, and managing consultants and specialists. Some experience leading a deal team is preferred. Securities, cyber security, real estate, and/or tax experience is a plus. Other duties will include consulting on our clients’ general corporate needs such as mergers, reorganizations, commercial transactions, entity formation and structuring, limited liability company agreements, shareholders agreements, partnership agreements, employee incentive plans, and commercial lending transactions. The successful candidate will have outstanding negotiation and communication skills, with sharp attention to detail, and will work well as part of a collaborative team. Associate Attorney - Litigation and Dispute Resolution (Washington, DC)
PilieroMazza is seeking an attorney with at least 5 years of comprehensive litigation experience to serve in its busy Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group. Substantial experience in all aspects of civil litigation (in both federal and state court), including drafting of pleadings, complex motions, and discovery; document review and e-discovery; fact investigation and case development; and trial preparation, and the ability to work cooperatively in a team of attorneys is required. Close attention to detail, a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and the ability to handle multiple matters or projects simultaneously are important qualities in the applicants for this position. Areas of practice may include government and commercial contracts, employer-side labor and employment, corporate/business (including business torts), and government investigations. Executive Legal Assistant (Litigation)
The Washington, DC office of PilieroMazza PLLC has an opening for an Executive Legal Assistant with experience to support several attorneys across our four practice groups: Government Contracting, Labor & Employment, Business & Corporate, and Litigation & Dispute Resolution.  Qualified candidates must have a proven work ethic, excellent communication and organizational skills, and substantive experience supporting attorneys in litigation matters, including assembly of pleadings and motions, general filing procedures for state and federal courts and local agencies, and compilation and preparation of exhibits.  Successful candidates will be proficient in multi-tasking while prioritizing competing demands.  Only individuals with three or more years of legal assistant experience and a college degree will be considered.
 
In addition to the duties listed above, this position also entails many administrative functions which include scheduling, proofing and formatting documents, inputting changes, preparing exhibits, maintaining attorney calendars, communicating with clients and other outside sources, occasional answering of telephones, transcription, billable time entry, and revising PowerPoint presentations.  Legal Assistants also provide overflow assistance to other Assistants in the firm.  It is critical that Assistants have strong computer skills and be extremely detail-oriented.  Applicants should be proficient in the Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat (PDF).  It is a requirement of the position that candidates possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including the ability to effectively use styles, cross referencing, auto-numbering, etc.  Experience or familiarity with conflicts checks and setting up new clients and matters is a plus.  Send resume to recruiting@pilieromazza.com.
