Paralegal – Washington, DC
PilieroMazza PLLC, a business law firm serving government contractors and large and small private sector commercial businesses, is seeking a detail oriented paralegal able to provide attorneys with support and provide assistance across our practice areas (Government Contracts, Litigation, Business and Transactions and Labor and Employment) including, the preparation of legal documents, research and compilation of data from various legal references as well as oversee case file maintenance including managing state business filings and interacting with state agencies, obtaining EINs, conducting and managing UCC searches and filings, researching state corporate law requirements, drafting resolutions and organizational documents, managing closings, drafting closing checklists, preparing closing disks. The Paralegal will also assist with certain corporate and employment matters such as investigations, organizing companies and compiling and maintaining closing binders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing case management services for civil litigation and government contracting quasi litigation matters (including calendaring deadlines and following-up on progress of filings, coordinating with attorneys in advance of any deadline, hearing, arbitration, or other appearance, and maintaining case files in a timely manner.) Finalizing and filing legal documents (whether hard copy or electronically using PACER or other electronic filing methods as appropriate), including the preparation of exhibits or attachments and organizing the same, cite checking/Bluebooking, preparing tables of contents and authorities, and reviewing documents for typographical errors and substance. Prepares and maintains trial notebooks and documents to be used at hearings and proceedings.
Assisting with the preparation of discovery (including compiling documents and bates stamping them).
Navigating e-discovery systems and managing the document review process through such systems, including importing, exporting, and migration of data inside and outside of such systems, as well as delivery to opposing counsel and government agencies. Experience with Relativity is preferred.
Performing legal research on a wide variety of topics using Westlaw and other resources

Client Engagement Assistant – Washington, DC
PilieroMazza PLLC, a business law firm serving government contractors and commercial businesses, is seeking a Client Engagement Assistant who will be responsible for managing and maintaining the firm’s client and contact database (Time Matters) and providing support for our marketing and business development efforts, as well as conducting client intake and disengagement activities.
Essential functions include:
Marketing & Business Development
- Assisting with projects within the department when necessary.
- Working with Executive Assistants, performs data maintenance, including deactivating old records, merging duplicate records, resolving data discrepancies, and verifying standardization of data.
- Maintaining all marketing, business development, and event lists, and assists in developing and makes suggestions for improving targeted lists for various marketing and business development-related activities.
- Distributing marketing-related electronic communications to firm marketing lists using 3rd-party email marketing software and generates and analytics reports after distributions.
- Establishing and improving database standards, policies, and procedures, as well as provides regular training to legal and support staff.
- Working with the Director of Client Engagement, configures database, tailoring it to suit the needs of each practice group, industry team, and marketing/business development initiative.
- Assisting in exploring and testing new features and 3rd-party products.
- Staying abreast of relevant software updates, new technologies, and best practices.
- Working with the Director of Client Engagement, helps drive and oversee CRM initiatives developed by the marketing and business development team (developing attorney experience database, tracking, and reporting on client/resource partner intelligence).
