WASHINGTON, DC, JANUARY 5, 2021:  PilieroMazza announces that, effective January 1, 2021, Tony Franco became Managing Partner, assuming the role held for over three decades by Founding Partner Pam Mazza.  Commenting on the change, Pam remarked, “Tony is a proven leader with a solid understanding of not only the practice of law, but also the business of law.  He is more than capable of leading us into the future.”

“Rotating the responsibilities of managing partner is an essential part of PilieroMazza’s strategic plan,” said Tony.  As Managing Partner, Tony assumes responsibility over the Firm’s business practices, oversees operations, and coordinates with the Firm’s Practice Group Chairs for Government Contracts, Business & Transactions, Labor & Employment, and Litigation & Dispute Resolution.  Pam remains in a leadership position as Founding Partner and will focus her efforts on enhancing client engagement and furthering the Firm’s strategic plan.  “Working together, we will build on the strong foundation Pam established for the Firm’s continued growth and success,” Tony added.

PilieroMazza also announced that Jon Williams takes over as Practice Group Chair for the Government Contracts Group.  A well-regarded legal practitioner with 20 years of experience in procurement law, Jon leads PilieroMazza’s largest practice group dedicated to assisting government contractors in all manner of legal issues they encounter when doing business with the federal government.  “We have one of the most active GovCon practices in the nation,” said Jon. “Reinforced by teaming with the Firm’s other practice areas, we remain strong advocates for our clients’ rights and offer skilled counsel on the complexities of engaging in the federal procurement process.

“We are pleased to welcome Sarah Nash and Katie Burrows as Partners and Jackie Unger as Counsel,” Tony stated.

“Sarah, Katie, and Jackie are exceptional attorneys whose legal acumen and attention to client service are noteworthy.”  Sarah, a member of the Labor & Employment Group, counsels government contractors and commercial businesses on all the legal aspects governing their workforce, including wage and hour issues, Department of Labor audits, and employment litigation.  As a member of the Firm’s Government Contracts Group, Katie advises on a myriad of legal matters specific to government contractors, such as navigating the bid protest process, counseling on requests for equitable adjustment, and external investigations.  Jackie, also a member of the Government Contracts Group, represents clients in appeals before agency Boards of Contract Appeals, resolves contract disputes with the government and with teaming partners, and defends clients against False Claims Act disputes.
